How to Pack and Dispatch an Order

Once an order is picked, it needs to be packed into a parcel and handed to a courier. Fulnex handles the whole packing → dispatch flow in one place. This guide walks through verifying picked items, printing the shipping label, and marking the order as dispatched.

Before you start

  • An order that's been fully picked (status: 'ready to pack')
  • A label printer (thermal or A4) OR access to a regular printer
  • Packaging materials (boxes, bags, tape)
1

Open the Packing queue

From the dashboard, navigate to Packing. You'll see a list of orders that have been picked and are ready to be packed. Each card shows the order number, customer name, item count, and pick completion time.

  • Oldest picks appear first by default (work them in order)
  • Tap any order to see the full item list
  • Orders waiting more than 24 hours get a warning flag
2

Tap an order to start packing

Open an order from the queue. You'll see every item that was picked, ready for verification. This is your chance to catch any picking errors before the parcel ships.

Tip

Once Quality Control module is live, this step becomes mandatory and barcode-verified. For now, a quick visual check is enough.

3

Verify each item

Compare what's physically in front of you to what's on screen. Tap each line to mark it 'verified'. If something's wrong, you can flag it for re-picking.

  • Right product but wrong quantity? Adjust and flag
  • Wrong product entirely? Send back for re-pick
  • Damaged item? Flag and pick a replacement from another bin
Important

Don't skip verification just because you're in a hurry. A wrong item in a parcel costs you 10x more than the time it takes to verify.

4

Choose packaging size and weight

Fulnex asks for the parcel dimensions and weight (used by the courier to calculate shipping). For most online orders, just choose the closest box size — pixel-perfect dimensions aren't critical.

  • Small parcel: < 1kg, fits in a flat box
  • Medium parcel: 1-5kg, standard ecom box
  • Large parcel: 5-15kg, requires a heavier-duty box
5

Generate the shipping label

Tap 'Generate Label'. Fulnex creates a printable shipping label with the customer's address, your business details, and a tracking barcode. It opens in a new tab ready to print.

  • Thermal printer: print directly, the label is sized for 100×150mm
  • Regular printer: print on A4, then cut and tape to the parcel
  • Save as PDF if you want to batch-print later
What you should see

A shipping label PDF appears. The order is now assigned a waybill number you can give to the courier.

6

Stick the label and seal the parcel

Print the label, peel/cut, and stick it on the parcel. Make sure the address and barcode are visible and flat — couriers scan the barcode automatically.

Tip

Stick the label on the largest flat surface of the parcel. Avoid edges and curves — those mess with barcode scanners.

7

Mark as dispatched

Back in Fulnex, tap 'Mark Dispatched'. This updates the order status in WooCommerce automatically — your customer gets a shipping notification email instantly.

What you should see

The order moves to the Dispatched tab. Stock is finalized, WooCommerce shows the customer that their order has shipped, and you're done.

Troubleshooting

Label printer doesn't print

Check that the printer is connected (USB or Bluetooth). If using a Zebra/thermal printer, make sure the label size in Fulnex matches the label size loaded in the printer (usually 100×150mm).

Shipping label is too big for my labels

In Settings → Shipping, you can change the default label size. Common options: 4×6 inch (thermal), A4 (regular paper), A6 (smaller paper labels).

Customer's address looks wrong on the label

Open the order in Fulnex, tap the customer details, and edit the address. The change pushes back to WooCommerce and the next label generation will use the new address.
